Job Description

The Adopt-A-Family Coordinator matches client applications for the adopt-a-family program to donors wishing to help. Assists with application processing, assisting with preparation and answering calls.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate a process for matching donors with clients, ensuring safety of both
  • Review client applications for completeness and eligibility
  • Communicate with donors and maintain accurate information on donor contact and preferences
  • Match donors with clients and provide information on client wants/needs and on process
  • Resolve any donor or client concerns
  • Coordinate the distribution of donations
  • Assist with distribution preparation
  • Attend staff and in-services meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 1+ years’ administrative assistant or related work experience

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Maintain client confidentiality and obtain appropriate releases of information
  • Demonstrate a continued effort to increase self-awareness and to better understand other cultures and issues of social justice, and promote racial understanding and reconciliation
  • Learn and adhere to The Salvation Army Social Services Code of Ethics
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics as they apply to professional licensing
  • Understand and adhere to professional boundaries within and outside of the organization

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)

Seasonal position - Monday - Friday 9a-4:30p (35 hours per week)
