We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON, RN) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring exceptional resident care. This leadership role is responsible for helping manage nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and fostering a positive culture of teamwork and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing services
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff
  • Assist with employee coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action processes
  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership to licensed nurses and nursing assistants
  • Act as a backup to the Director of Nursing as needed
  • Conduct daily rounds and monitor resident conditions and care delivery
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Promote resident safety, dignity, and quality of care
  • Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Conduct and support ongoing staff education and in-service programs
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and employee information
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and communicate updates to staff as needed

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina in good standing
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • 3–5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, survey readiness, and clinical operations

Skills & Certifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
  • Must maintain all required continuing education and licensure requirements
  • Must remain in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
