The Admissions Professional III for the MEZCOPH School of Health Professions has the primary responsibility of recruiting and admitting high quality, well rounded and best fit students for the various programs within the School. This includes Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, the developing Nurse-Midwifery Program, and other programs currently in development. The position also assists with recruitment of students for the Genetic Counseling Graduate Program, Health Sciences Design graduate certificate, and other degree and certificate programs within MEZCOPH. In collaboration with School leadership and Program Directors, this position will facilitate the admission process and implement a high-quality enrollment management strategy including marketing and communication to targeted audiences and serve as the point person for all inquiries from potential students (and others) regarding the admissions process.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage student recruitment and selection in collaboration with MEZCOPH and School of Health Professions (SHP) leadership.
  • Plan, develop, and administer a recruitment program for MEZCOPH and SHP programs across the U.S.
  • Collect and analyze recruitment data to inform admissions strategy, and build statistical models to track progress toward recruitment goals and targets.
  • Ensure prospective and admitted students meet program academic standards.
  • Generate and deliver accurate, timely reports on applicant pools, enrolled students, and scholarship allocations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the accreditation process for the admissions area.
  • Provide quarterly and annual reports on Admissions accomplishments and initiatives.
  • Use admissions portals such as WebAdMIT and GradApp to manage applicant data and reporting.
  • Oversee and deliver clear, timely communication on interview schedules, application statuses, and admissions decisions.
  • Represent and promote MEZCOPH and SHP programs at student recruitment events and fairs across the state and region.
  • Develop and implement new student onboarding and orientation programs with the MEZCOPH and SHP Student Affairs team.
  • Maintain consistent, accurate representation of SHP programs across collegewide communications with the communications and marketing team.
  • Develop digital and print marketing materials promoting SHP programs with the communications and marketing team.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of staff providing tactical and operational support, including mentoring, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Maintain awareness of current research, legislation, regulations and trends by attending workshops, conferences and meetings when appropriate.

  • Ability to effectively direct and lead a professional staff while meeting accreditation standards and striving for continuous improvement of operations and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with campus leaders, faculty, staff, and students across a variety of units.
  • Excellent, collaborative, oral and written communication skills, specifically as it relates to communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years (3) of experience in admission-related activities.
  • Experience with graduate/professional education programs in the health sciences.
  • Experience with student information systems interpreting data from admissions and financial aid to forecast, analyze, evaluate and provide continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating enrollment management strategies that support the mission and program priorities.
  • Managerial experience, both with direct reports and with cross-functional teams that do not have a direct, formal reporting structure.
  • Experience with innovating and implementing Admissions-related programs.
  • Experience with program implementation, strategic planning, and managing across multiple important priorities.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
