Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary
In collaboration with the Director, develop and execute strategic recruitment plans aligned with Chapman University’s goals and values. Manage the full admissions cycle for assigned graduate programs, serving as the primary liaison between academic departments and prospective students. This role is responsible for working to meet enrollment goals through innovative outreach, personalized communication, and seamless funnel management.

Responsibilities
Participate in supporting Admission activities of the Graduate Admissions Office:
  • Serve as primary liaison to assigned graduate academic programs, providing expertise to academic admission staff on admissions processes and requirements to support enrollment goals. – Serve as a resource for prospective students, providing guidance on how the program can address their individual and/or professional goals, and advising on the qualitative and quantitative aspects of admissions requirements.
  • Follow up with applicants regarding all aspects of the admission process, as they move through the admissions funnel.
  • Work with applicants and departments on completing applications for review and evaluation within application deadlines and timelines.
  • Work with academic departments to ensure timely decision release in compliance with Admission policy and procedure. Work cross functionally with Registrar’s Office and Financial Aid to resolve new incoming student issues.
  • Collaborate with Admission leadership and program staff to set and achieve enrollment goals.

Work with Director to develop recruitment plans and strategies for assigned programs that are aligned with the Graduate Admissions Office and Chapman’s goals, missions and values.
  • Responsible for development of a communication plan for assigned programs through the entire funnel, with prospective students, applicants and admitted students, in collaboration with department staff and the admission communication lead.
  • Partner with academic partners in planning and scheduling various on-campus or virtual graduate information sessions.
  • Represent the University and assigned programs at various coordinated recruitment events, both on and off campus.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Admission team to create and participate in central admission events and to attend off campus recruitment activities.
  • Participate in relevant professional development activities and affiliations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of recruitment and admission processes of graduate programs
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate trends, systemic factors that influence enrollment decisions and prospective student population, and advocate for innovative recruitment and outreach strategies that attract the most competitive candidates.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and evaluate data, access alternatives, formulate logical recommendations and decisions Strong computer skills in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, internet and electronic mail software, preferably of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Prior experience with higher education CRM systems like Slate or PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of current office practices and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both within and outside the University.
  • Ability to interact with the campus community, including applicants, students, faculty, and staff
  • Experience working with students and collaborating with faculty and academic administrators.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare, proofread and edit clear, concise and grammatically correct business correspondence and other documents.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple and complex tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously, completing projects and tasks accurately and efficiently, under pressure and with interruptions, achieving goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to present Chapman University and the assigned graduate programs in a positive and persuasive manner
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality

Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of marketing principles and practices with the ability to apply them and enhance the recruiting efforts.
  • Experience in interpreting budgetary and statistical data and producing high quality spreadsheets and reports
