Job Description

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a compassionate, organized, and relationship-focused professional to join our team as an Admissions Coordinator. This role serves as an important first point of contact for individuals and families seeking services and supports, helping guide them through the admissions process with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.

As the Admissions Coordinator, you will help individuals and families navigate available programs and resources while ensuring a smooth and supportive admissions experience from initial inquiry through placement and service coordination.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective individuals, families, guardians, and referral sources by providing information regarding agency services and supports.
  • Coordinate and conduct facility tours while introducing families to agency programs, resources, and mission-driven services.
  • Manage and oversee the admissions process, including collection and review of required documentation and coordination of approvals.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with applicants, referral agencies, and support teams throughout the admissions process.
  • Assist families in understanding and navigating DDD services, eligibility requirements, and related community resources.
  • Evaluate individual needs and assist in identifying appropriate internal programs and external support services.
  • Advocate for timely access to services and support continuity of care for individuals seeking placement.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with support coordinators, school districts, case managers, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Represent the agency at outreach events, resource fairs, school visits, and other community engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up related to admissions and referral activity.

Position Details

  • Location: Brick, New Jersey
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Flexibility required to accommodate meetings with families and guardians as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in admissions, case management, family services, or a related field required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities required.
  • Knowledge of DDD systems, eligibility procedures, and community-based resources strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with families, referral partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn agency software systems.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.
