Wheatridge, CO

Admissions Coordinator

One Full-Time Position. 40 hours per week.

Monday through Friday, Business Hours with on-call rotation. Shifts are based on program/member needs.

Hiring Range: $22.81 - $24.68 / hr., depending upon education and experience.

This position will remain open until filled.

The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for facilitating placements into Ariel’s Adult Services and recruitment of Host Homes and Foster Homes for Children.

Minimum Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Public Relations.

or

· Minimum of one year Sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two years sales related experience.
  • Minimum of one year experience in residential sales.
  • Minimum of one year experience with the I/DD population.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Market Ariel’s array of programs to individuals seeking services. Provide individualized recommendations based on individuals’ interests, needs, and safety.
  2. Responsible for responding to referrals; marketing/brokering services to individuals, and communicating with families, guardians, and parents. Recruitment of Residential Providers for adults and children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  3. Serve as a liaison with Community Center Boards and other referral entities to ensure individual needs are met. Participate in and attend enrollment meetings to ensure coordination of all aspects of residential placements are solidified.
  4. Develop and maintain an accurate tracking system of activities.
  5. Implement a marketing plan for achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and strategic plan goals.
  6. Use advertising and promotional activities including print, electronic, direct mail, and social media for distribution to our customer base. Attend outreach events and other marketing events, representing Ariel.
  7. Responsible for interviewing prospective providers and their application process. Developing a pool of diverse and desirable placement options and facilitating the process of matching the individual with the optimal services.
  8. Determine an individual’s funding resources to include Medicaid, social security, medical insurance for residential placement and other community services.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both individual and group settings.
  2. Skilled in critical thinking and use of sound judgment to arrive at a positive outcome.
  3. Ability to be flexible, and able to change direction rapidly.
  4. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, complete a wide variety of tasks and direct others, as needed.
  5. Advanced computer knowledge and skills.

6. Ability to anticipate, conceptualize and communicate an individual’s unique needs with the interdisciplinary team.

  1. Exercise independent, ethical judgment within the scope and boundaries of the department, the Agency’s Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations.
  2. Ability to organize and present case material in a straight-forward, concise, written manner ensuring that communication among Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) team members is clear concerning the individual/family.
  3. Knowledge of community resources (social, public agency, and information) to assist individuals in accessing these resources.
  4. Ability to provide reliable, insured transportation for self and others through the community served, and a willingness to travel state-wide.
  5. Ability to demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance as scheduled and requested.
  6. Complete understanding across all Ariel programs and services.
  7. Ability to be a reliable and supportive team member.

Certifications/Licenses

Required:

  1. A Valid Colorado Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

CPR/First Aid within 60 days of hire.

Physical Demands

  1. This position requires that the incumbent be capable of walking, bending, standing, sitting, stooping, stretching, and/or reaching regularly for periods of up to two hours without a break.
  2. This position requires that the incumbent have adequate hand and finger dexterity to properly perform the functions of the position.
  3. This position requires lifting regularly up to 25 pounds, pulling or pushing people in wheelchairs, and transferring people weighing more than 50 pounds to and from wheelchairs must be performed with another staff member.
  4. At times, physical interventions may be required.
  5. This position requires the ability to hear, see, smell, and distinguish temperature, at a level that is adequate to ensure client and staff health and safety. Adaptive devices are acceptable.
  6. This position will require daily driving of up to one hour per day and occasionally up to eight hours per day.
  7. Climbing may be required from time to time.

Work Environment

  1. This position can and will be exposed to all environments from quiet to noisy, climate controlled to extreme outdoor heat and cold.
  2. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease is possible but limited.
  3. Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible, but limited.
