Guide the journey. Keep applications moving. Help students take their first step.

For many students, admissions is where their college journey begins.

A clear answer can calm a worry. A well-timed update can keep an application moving. A supportive conversation can help someone feel that college is for them.

As our Admissions Co-ordinator, you’ll help make that first experience professional, welcoming and well organised.

You’ll co-ordinate applications from initial enquiry through to enrolment, making sure records are accurate, applicants receive clear information and issues are resolved quickly. You’ll work with curriculum teams, schools, applicants, families and internal support teams to help students move smoothly through the admissions process.

This is a role for someone who is organised, calm and customer-focused. You’ll need to manage detail, use systems confidently and communicate clearly by phone, email and face to face.

Admissions can be busy, especially around key recruitment and enrolment periods. The right person will enjoy keeping things moving, solving problems and helping applicants feel supported at each stage.

What you'll do

  • Co-ordinate the admissions journey from application through to enrolment.
  • Process applications accurately and maintain records across college systems.
  • Act as a key contact for admissions enquiries by phone, email and face to face.
  • Support applicants and families with clear, timely and reassuring information.
  • Liaise with curriculum teams, schools and support teams to keep applications moving.
  • Monitor admissions activity through reports, resolving errors and escalating issues when needed.
  • Support booking and organisation of assessments and interviews.
  • Help make sure appropriate support is in place for interviews, enrolment and transition.
  • Provide front-line support for walk-in course enquiries.
  • Support enrolment events, open evenings, school engagement and new student activity.
  • Use systems, reports and data to manage workload and monitor progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience in admissions, customer service, education administration or a similar role.
  • A good standard of education, including English and maths at Level 2.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and using data systems.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills by phone, email and face to face.
  • A customer-focused approach with applicants, parents, schools and colleagues.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • A proactive approach to resolving issues and improving the applicant experience.
What you’re like
  • Organised. You keep applications, records and deadlines under control.
  • Clear. You explain information in a way applicants and families can understand.
  • Reassuring. You help people feel supported, especially when they are unsure what happens next.
  • Accurate. You understand that good records make the whole journey smoother.
  • Responsive. You follow up, resolve queries and keep things moving.
  • Adaptable. You stay steady during busy admissions and enrolment periods.
  • Collaborative. You work well with curriculum teams, schools and support colleagues.
  • Student-centred. You care about creating a positive first experience for every applicant.
Essentials
  • You’ll need an enhanced DBS check. If you get the job, we’ll do this for you.
  • You’re committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • You can travel across college sites when required.
  • You’re flexible and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to support admissions, enrolment and recruitment events.
  • You’re committed to delivering an outstanding experience for every applicant.
