Job Description

The North West Maternity Services (NWMS) is primarily located at the North West Regional Hospital, with satellite and community-based services delivered across Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), King Island District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and West Coast District Hospital. Our service covers the full scope of maternity care including antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, pregnancy and postnatal assessment services, a 4-bed birthing suite, 20 bed inpatient ward, 8 bed special care nursery and extended care midwifery services for women when they discharge home after birth. We also offer women dedicated lactation services as well as connections through our allied health colleagues for social work, women’s health physio and diabetes services and perinatal mental health.

The Role

• Provide an efficient and patient-focused admissions and administrative support service to Inpatient Maternity Services at the North West Regional Hospital.
• Coordinate the day-to-day management of patient admissions, records, correspondence and administrative documentation.
• Provide effective administrative support and liaison for patients, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the delivery of Inpatient Maternity Services.

You will need

• Demonstrated administrative experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and provide efficient administrative support in a busy healthcare environment.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide professional customer service and work collaboratively with patients, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong computer and organisational skills, including experience using electronic information systems and Microsoft Office applications, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Details of appointment

Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$76,849 to $82,996 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025
