TITLE: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

DEPARTMENT: ADMISSIONS

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL TIME

FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: REPORTS TO THE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

JOB PURPOSE:

The Assistant Director of Admissions manages the recruitment, interview, and application review process for prospective students within an assigned recruitment territory to increase applications, admissions, and enrollment yield. The Assistant Director represents Wagner College both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, school counselors, and community partners. This position is responsible for developing relationships, creating partnerships, and implementing recruitment strategies within the designated territory. The Assistant Director also manages special projects and initiatives that support the College’s enrollment goals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor recruitment strategies for an assigned territory, including in-state and out-of-state travel.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community college counselors, and community partners.
  • Conduct group information sessions and individual appointments for prospective students and families on and off campus.
  • Utilize Slate CRM to support communication, prospect tracking, territory management, and reporting.
  • Evaluate applications and manage a cohort of applicants to ensure timely admissions decisions.
  • Support recruitment and yield initiatives designed to increase student engagement and enrollment.
  • Assist the Financial Aid Office as needed to support prospective and admitted students.
  • Coordinate and oversee assigned projects, events, and recruitment initiatives.
  • Serve on committees and participate in campus activities as requested.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to recruitment activities and outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Prior admissions, enrollment management, recruitment, or related experience required.
  • Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM preferred.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Seasonal evening and weekend work required during peak recruitment periods.
  • Extensive travel required for college fairs, high school visits, recruitment programs, and other admissions events.
  • Must be able to represent the College professionally at on-campus and off-campus events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, transport, and move recruitment materials and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during recruitment events and college fairs.
  • Ability to travel frequently by automobile, train, or airplane.

WORK LOCATION AND HOURS:

  • Primary work location is on campus except during recruitment travel and off-campus events.
  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Evening and weekend hours are required as needed to support admissions events and recruitment activities.
