The position

The Aga Khan School Tanzania (AKS,T) operates three schools, providing education from Nursery to Secondary levels. With a history dating back to 1905, when a girls' school was established in Zanzibar by Sir Sultan Mohammed Shah Aga Khan III, the schools have a long-standing commitment to educational excellence. AKS, T delivers high-quality National and International curricula designed to develop students' intellectual, personal, and life skills, fostering independent inquiry, critical thinking, and the confidence to thrive in an increasingly globalized and technology-driven world.

AKS, Tanzania is seeking for a qualified and dedicated candidates for the position of Admissions and Marketing Manager to lead the school's admissions, marketing, and communications functions to achieve enrolment and strategic growth objectives. The role oversees the full admissions lifecycle, develops and implements integrated marketing and communication strategies, strengthens the school's brand and reputation, and builds strong relationships with prospective and current families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end admissions funnel: inquiry, tour, application, assessment, offer, and enrolment
  • Develop and execute annual enrolment strategy and targets in line with school growth goals
  • Build relationships with prospective families, relocation agents, corporate HR partners, and embassies/consulates
  • Organize and host open houses, campus tours, and admissions events (in-person and virtual)
  • Manage the admissions CRM/database, ensuring accurate tracking of leads, conversion rates, and follow-ups
  • Develop and implement an integrated marketing communications strategy across digital, print, and in-person channels
  • Manage and oversee the school's website, social media platforms, email newsletters, and content calendar
  • Create marketing collateral (brochures, videos, digital ads, presentations) aligned with brand guidelines
  • Manage relationships with external vendors: designers, photographers, videographers, and media agencies
  • Ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across all school materials and platforms
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform positioning strategy
  • Collaborate with leadership to align admissions/marketing initiatives with the school's strategic plan

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or Education is desirable.
  • Professional certification in marketing, digital marketing, communications, public relations, or customer relationship management (CRM) is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in admissions, enrolment management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 2 to 3 years in a leadership or management role with responsibility for strategy development, team supervision, and performance management.
  • Experience working in an international school, private school, higher education institution, or education-related organization is preferred
  • Strong understanding of admissions processes, enrolment management, and customer journey mapping.
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing principles, brand management, digital marketing, and communications strategies.
  • Proficiency in social media management, email marketing, content creation, and website administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align admissions, marketing, and communications initiatives with institutional goals.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills in English.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with prospective families, students, staff, leadership, alumni, and community partners.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and commitment to delivering a positive hospitality experience.
