The team

The Business Support Team is based at Fire Service Headquarters in Ipswich.

We’re a busy and supportive team providing vital support across Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service while also acting as a key non-emergency contact point for the public.

Our team plays a unique role across the service, giving you the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities and work closely with teams across the organisation. You may also have the chance to support events such as Open Days and the County Show.

We work in a hybrid way, with a minimum of four days per week office-based and Fridays typically worked from home. During your initial training period, you will be required to work full time from the office.

As our office is within the response area for Princes Street Fire Station, existing On-Call Firefighters may be able to respond while at work. For anyone interested in becoming an On-Call Firefighter, there may also be opportunities to discuss combining this role with on-call duties, subject to eligibility and operational requirements.

Empowering Everyone

We’re big believers in potential, possibility and the power of different ideas. We’re always searching for ways to encourage, respect and enable everyone to be the best they can be. We want to represent the diverse communities we serve. We welcome applications from all individuals, especially those from groups that are currently underrepresented in the organisation, as shown in our Workforce Equality Report
