This is an on-site position in Morro Bay, California.

Come join the Morro Bay Community Development Department team as an Administrative Technician! This position serves as the central hub for all departmental activities, playing a crucial role in ensuring seamless coordination, effective communication, and efficient operations that contribute to the overall success of the department and the City as a whole. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Provide complex administrative support to a department head and departmental staff.
  • Prepare Planning Commission Packets and Minutes.
  • Process, manage, and track a variety of correspondence.
  • Update and maintain Department website including Planning & Building Division updates.
  • Maintain department files in an organized, easily accessible manner.
  • Manage the contract process for the Department.
  • Prepare public hearing notices and meeting legal deadlines.
  • Exercise technical and functional supervision of lower level secretarial/clerical staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying.

Education and Experience: Equivalent to AA degree and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis. Two years performing similar duties in the City of Morro Bay or another agency.

License/Certificate Requirements: Due to the performance of some field duties, which may require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid California Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
