Bring leadership, clarity, and stability to a fast paced Child Intervention worksite by guiding the administrative operations that keep our teams moving and our programs running smoothly.
Reporting to the Worksite Manager, the Administrative Team Lead – Child Intervention oversees the day to day administrative functions of the office. This role manages a wide range of responsibilities, including supervising administrative support resources, accounts payable/receivable, procurement, budgetary monitoring and forecasting, human resources, records management, accommodations, Occupational Health and Safety, and IT support.
Children and Family Services offices within the Edmonton Region deliver a variety of Child Protection and Family Enhancement programs. Some locations operate as 24/7 facilities that provide emergency after hours services or residential care for high risk youth. As a key member of the worksite management team, the Administrative Team Lead is often the first point of contact for ensuring administrative activities are properly resourced across units and program areas, while also supporting the overall administration, safety, and personnel needs of all worksite staff.
The Worksite Manager relies on the Administrative Team Lead to interpret and implement Regional and Ministry administrative, human resource, and financial policies, serving as the primary resource for guidance in these areas. Worksite sizes across the Edmonton Region vary from roughly 30 to over 150 staff. In larger worksites, the Administrative Team Lead provides broad oversight of administrative functions while program supervisors manage day to day administrative staff activities. In smaller worksites, the Administrative Team Lead takes on more direct supervision of administrative support staff and their work.
The Administrative Team Lead is an integral part of the management team and engages with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to continually prioritize tasks to meet the evolving needs of the Region and Ministry.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to turn challenging situations into opportunities. They communicate clearly with staff and stakeholders and follow the appropriate chain of command when making decisions that may impact Children and Family Services. They embrace change with a positive attitude and strengthen team effectiveness through a commitment to service excellence. The successful candidate brings people together, resolves conflict effectively, and consistently produces high quality work by setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
