ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

BOARD OF PARDONS & PAROLE

DEER LODGE, MT

The Montana Board of Pardons and Parole is dedicated to a parole and pardon system focused on public safety, victim concerns, successful inmate reentry, and responsible use of state resources. We rely on evidence‑based strategies, strong collaboration with community and state partners, and professional best practices to promote positive reintegration and risk reduction.

The Administrative Support Specialist isthe first point of contact for the Board’s office—helping maintain strong communication, accurate records, and smooth daily operations.

  • Manage incoming phone calls and direct complaints or concerns from offenders, families, justice system partners, and the public to the appropriate staff.

  • Prepare letters, memos, forms, schedules, reports, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

  • Maintain data logs in established systems and generate statistical information upon request.

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings; arrange travel for staff as needed Interact daily with offenders, visitors, and others, including individuals who may be agitated or under the influence of substances.

QUALIFICATIONS

The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1-2 years of job-related experience.

Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
