Job duties:   This is a highly responsible position, reporting directly to the Court Services Administrative Officer (CSAO) and supervising the administrative support unit.  This position will oversee administrative duties of the Court Services Administrative Officer including, but not limited to:
  • Coordinating office operations, logistics and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency,
  • Fiscal and budgetary duties, to include purchasing, payments, and check requests for both Court Services and District Court Administration, 
  • Recruitment, hiring, and staff supervision,
  • Human Resources, to include maintaining personnel files and KCJIS files.  Familiarity and compliance with FMLA and ADA guidelines. 
  • This position will serve as a liaison between the District Court Services and the Johnson County Financial Management and Administration Office. 
The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational and time management skills and have the ability to problem solve and work well with other District Court staff and county departments. 

Required education and experience:   High School Graduate.  Minimum of three years of increasingly responsible administrative work in an office setting is required, with preference given to experience in budgeting and financial responsibilities.  This position requires a high degree of initiative, independent judgement and discretion in handling delegated administrative details.   Attention to detail and written/oral communication skills is imperative. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain harmonious working relationships and preserve confidentiality in all matters. 

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience with purchasing, personnel and/or staff supervision.  Strong computer skills are desired including Oracle, Word, and Excel.  Must possess the ability to work both individually and as a team.  Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and manage multiple tasks with deadlines is important.
