Griffith’s Clinical Trial Unit is a Core research Facility to the University that provides state of the art facilities for clinical trials. We support university researchers and academics in conducting their trials, but also provide professional clinical trial services to commercial clients such as the pharma and biosciences industry.

As the Administrative Support Officer, you will support CTU management and staff by providing reception duties, as well as administrative and operational assistance for the day-to-day running of the unit.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Respond to/refer general enquiries and undertake daily reception duties including check in for visitors and trial participants.
  • Manage generic email accounts and calendars; assist with onboarding of staff, organisation of events, activities and mail-outs.
  • Manage diary, travel and accommodation bookings, participant sustenance, liaise with other areas within the University, and provide administrative support to staff, management, selection panels and committees as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support, including ordering stationery, catering and routine procurement, room bookings, facilities and IT requests, laundry and waste collection, and visitor parking.
  • Assist in managing the flow of information, establishing and maintaining administrative systems, including spreadsheets, information systems, registers, online booking systems, procedures and databases.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications and subsequent practical experience in clinical trials or health and medical research, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in building and maintaining relationships including.
  • Strong computer skills with and experience in procurement and financial transactions.
  • An understanding of the clinical sector and associated confidentiality.

What we can offer

This is a part time (40% FTE), fixed term (6 months) position based primarily at Griffith University’s Gold Coast location. This is an initial 6-month position with a potential for extension.

As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range

The part-time base salary at 40% FTE (HEW Level 4), the salary range is $30,450 - $32,128 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total 0.4 FTE package is in the range $35,627 - $37,590 per annum.
