
The Department of Safety, Community Corrections Division is seeking an Administrative Assistant IV to join our team.
The Administrative Assistant IV position is within the Community Corrections Division (CCD), within the Department of Safety. The agency administers alternative to incarceration programs including pretrial services, in home detention and residential community corrections facilities. The CCD has a diverse and dedicated staff committed to enhancing public safety and working with the community and other criminal justice agencies.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Reviews, Interprets, applies, and explains regulations, policies, standards, and/or procedures to staff, participants, and agency stakeholders
Reviews and evaluates forms, applications, computations, documents, and/or other information to determine accuracy, completeness, acceptability, or compliance
Determines and evaluates facts and makes decisions without the benefit of direct guidance or supervisory review where the cost of correcting errors could be substantial in either time or money
Prepares and processes documents and other forms in accordance with program policies and procedures
Recommends improvements or solutions to problems within a range of specified, acceptable, and/or standard alternatives and technical practices
Provides specialized information, identifies problems within a defined scope and has the authority to resolve discrepancies, and follows up on requests or complaints
Responds to sensitive inquiries in a gender responsive and trauma informed manner as it relates to program policies and procedures
Examines, checks, and approves/rejects information and determines appropriate services within a defined scope
Performs other related duties as assigned
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
Bilingual in Spanish and English (not a requirement)
Have experience working in a related field
Skilled use of software and business application including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Commitment to working collaboratively within a team to ensure timely completion of work.
Motivation to work with others in a culturally responsive, trauma informed manner and ability to demonstrate a healthy working alliance
Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:
Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III).
Education & Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
By position, requires certification or licensure related to area of work at the time of application or by the completion of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
