Join The Ascendancy Group (TAG) in supporting the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Leader Assessment Program (NLAP), which prepares future NSW leaders through structured, fair, and transparent assessment evolutions and development opportunities. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a highly organized administrative professional with strong Defense Travel System (DTS), customer-service, scheduling, and records management experience.

You will provide essential administrative and logistics support across NLAP assessment activities, coordinate with candidates and panelists, support travel processes, and ensure each program iteration is organized, timely, and professionally executed. This role directly supports the readiness and continuity of an important NSW leadership-assessment mission.

Overview

The Ascendancy Group is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant II to provide on-site administrative, scheduling, travel-coordination, records, logistics, and session support to NLAP at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California. The Assistant will support the Business Intelligence Analyst and Government Program Manager; coordinate with NSW stakeholders, panelists, and candidates; and provide functional support during all NLAP sessions.

This position supports administrative functions for NLAP’s human-performance and physical assessments, psychological evaluations, writing assessments, peer and subordinate evaluations, and competency interview panels. The incumbent will not perform assessments or participate in assessment grading. The Assistant may serve as the NLAP Moderator during panel milestone interviews when requested by the Government; the Moderator maintains process continuity and does not assess readiness.

Security Requirement:

An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required before the start date and must be maintained throughout employment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties supporting all NLAP components, including human-performance and physical assessments, psychological evaluations, writing assessments, peer and subordinate evaluations, and competency interview panels.
  • Communicate with NSW NLAP stakeholders, including the Officer Community Manager, NSW officer detailers, prospective panelists, and eligible officers, to develop the annual list of personnel required to complete NLAP for leadership-milestone qualification.
  • Prepare and submit the annual NLAP participant list before the end of each calendar year.
  • Prepare weekly schedules for NLAP milestone iterations.
  • Assist the Government Program Manager and Business Intelligence Analyst with NLAP registration materials and performance graphics.
  • Promote service on NLAP panels and coordinate with NSW Echelon 3 commands to identify qualified panelists.
  • Notify required candidates of participation requirements and collect candidate data needed to complete pre-NLAP records.
  • Develop and distribute NLAP Warning Orders and prepare post-NLAP panelist and candidate feedback surveys; ensure materials are sent to registered participants two weeks before each NLAP iteration.
  • Provide on-site support throughout NLAP weeks, including logistics coordination, support for assessment evolutions, and candidate-interview support.
  • Coordinate and advise NLAP panelists and participants on Government travel-related matters using DTS.
  • Act as a reviewer routing official and assist customers with travel questions, travel authorizations, voucher processing, and related routine travel coordination.
  • Reconcile travel transactions in prescribed feeder and official accounting systems, which may include the Command Financial Management System (CFMS), Standard Accounting, Budgeting and Reporting System (SABRS), Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP).
  • Maintain and update documentation supporting Dormant Accounts Review-Quarterly (DAR-Q) and audit readiness.
  • Create, update, and distribute travel reports, including Unsubmitted Voucher Reports, Statements of Understanding, and Cardholder Training Reports.
  • When designated and appropriately authorized, serve as a Non-DTS Entry Agent to assist with travel-document creation and/or as an Alternate Agency Program Coordinator for the Government Travel Charge Card program with view-only access for voucher reviews.
  • When requested, serve as NLAP Moderator during panel milestone interviews by following approved scripts, preparing for deliberations, enforcing rules of engagement, and maintaining discretion, tact, and continuity across iterations.
  • Protect confidential candidate information and comply with applicable Department of War, Department of the Navy, USSOCOM, NSW, cybersecurity, privacy, and information-security requirements.
  • Support Government-directed training and authorized travel as required for NLAP activities.

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required at start date.
  • Associate’s degree in an administrative field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with the Defense Travel System (DTS) and applying Department of War travel processing requirements and policies.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated success in at least two professional environments requiring an excellent work ethic, close attention to detail, superior customer service, independent execution, and highly accurate work with minimal oversight.
  • Experience supporting scheduling, travel coordination, logistics, communications, records, candidate or participant tracking, and administrative operations in a high-accountability environment.
  • Familiarity with travel reconciliation and reporting processes; experience with CFMS, SABRS, DAI, N-ERP, DAR-Q, or Government Travel Charge Card processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated discretion and appreciation for the confidential nature of leadership-assessment processes and candidate records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment involving senior and Flag-level leadership engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving, customer-service, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on site at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California, and obtain access to military installations.
