As the Ministry of Forestry and Parks we are responsible for fostering Alberta’s environmentally responsible forest management practices, including management of wildfires. We preserve our provincial parks for the recreation and enjoyment of Albertans. As well as enabling access to public lands for recreational and commercial purposes while prioritizing conservation. Forestry and Parks also manage public lands and balances sustainable rangelands and grazing leases for Alberta producers.

Reporting to the Administration Team Lead, the Administrative Support provides a wide variety of administrative functions focusing on integrated delivery for all program streams within the assigned area of responsibility. This includes fisheries and wildlife, air and water, contaminated sites, emergency response /management, regulatory approvals and compliance, public lands and rangeland management, Conservation Enforcement, and Forestry and F&W Enforcement.
As part of a collaborative finance and administrative team, the incumbent demonstrates effective communication with staff and follows applicable ministry policies and procedures.

This role is critical to supporting integrated program delivery and providing high-quality administrative and client service within the ministry. Through effective communication, sound knowledge of departmental procedures and processes, and a collaborative approach, the Administrative Support contributes to efficient operations and a positive client experience for Albertans.

Minimum Recruitment Standard:
High school diploma and two years of related experience.
Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

This is a temporary full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated end date of April 2028.
Travel within the region on a regular basis and throughout the province on occasion may be required as part of your responsibilities and you will have frequent contact with Ministry staff and colleagues, other government departments, clients, and external stakeholder’s province wide.
Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses will be the responsibility of the candidate. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
