Description

We are looking for a Administrative Supervisor, in Office of State Vet's Office, Division of Regulatory Field
Services, Disease Surveillance and Control Section 1.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provides direct supervision to Agricultural Inspectors assigned to their area to include
    testing of livestock, tagging, and quarantine if necessary. Inspects stockyards and rendering
    plants. Coordinates Poultry testing and surveillance. Coordinates Deer movements and inspections.Develops and
    approves weekly assignments for each inspector.
  • Monitors and approves leave request, timesheets, and completes performance evaluations on
    employees.
  • Maintains a proficient working knowledge of the state and federal regulations that Department
    of Agriculture, Animal Health division enforce.
  • Coordinates and assists Office of State Veterinarian in working events. Attends and works
    events and activities assigned by Branch Manager and/or senior leadership.
  • Assists in developing and training of employees in their area for job related duties including
    emergency responses.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Four years of professional administrative experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
