Under the direct supervision of the Chief Building Official, the Administrative Specialist III provides administrative support to the Building Inspection and Permits department. This role involves performing a range of complex and routine clerical tasks, including record processing, bookkeeping, secretarial duties, and general office functions. The Administrative Specialist III also coordinates travel and training for staff and uses software to process documents such as applications, forms, and reports. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing departmental invoices and credit cards, as well as preparing the departmental budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of related experience. Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary and requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, and walking.
