Planning and Development Services Department is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Specialist II to support the Business Team. This role performs advanced administrative and technical work, providing direct support to team leadership and program staff. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules and meetings, preparing correspondence and reports, serving as a point of contact for customers, and assisting with a variety of departmental operations, projects, and administrative processes.
To be considered, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and 2 to 5 years of clerical and computer experience (college coursework may substitute for experience). Preferred qualifications include college coursework in Business and related professional certifications. The starting pay range for this position is $22.94 up to $28.68 (midpoint)
In this role, you will...
Provide administrative support to the PDS Business Team, including leadership and program staff.
Prepare, review, and edit correspondence, reports, and official documents.
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments while resolving conflicts.
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, handling calls, inquiries, and front-office support.
Coordinate meetings, take and distribute minutes, and assist with internal and external communications.
Process purchase requests, track orders, and support budget and financial administrative tasks.
Assist with functions such as job postings, interview coordination, and onboarding activities.
Support special projects and operations, including advisory board coordination, impact fee processes, and emergency planning efforts.
Work Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED) with 2 to 5 years of clerical and computer experience.
Note: One year of college may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Related professional certifications.
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
Starting Pay Range: $22.94 up to $28.68 (midpoint).
