Summary

Serve as primary administrative support for commissioner of the district. Assist with fundamental office tasks, such as routing correspondence, answering phone calls, responding to constituent concerns, and processing travel reimbursements.

The typical schedule for this position is Monday - Friday with a 37.5-hour work week.

The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $24.68 - $34.91 per hour.

Examples of duties

An employee in this class performs information processing and constituent service functions tasks in the offices of County Board members or the County Administrator. Duties include processing correspondence; coordinating appointments and administrative schedules; gathering information on issues and concerns for administrative action; responding to requests regarding County services; assisting with marketing, communications, and special projects. The work is performed under the direction of a County Board member and assigned supervisory staff.

Qualifications

RARE: Lift-Push/pull while stationary up to 20 pounds; and Carry-push/pull while moving about up to 20 pounds.

Supplemental information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Three (3) years full-time paid verifiable administrative experience; OR equivalent education and/or experience as determined by the Director of Human Resources and Administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate personal computer-based systems.
  • Proficiency in operating word processing software.
  • Ability to type from clear copy at a rate of 40 w.p.m./net.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
