ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION
Avenues for Youth provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, rapid re-housing, collective housing, and host homes housing for youth and young families experiencing housing instability and homelessness. We strive to do that in a safe and nurturing environment through a social justice lens. Avenues seeks to partner with youth and young families while they define their experiences, life dreams and future. Our work takes into account historical trauma, systems of oppression, and intersectionality while being grounded in the power of resiliency, healing, and community.
This role keeps operations running smoothly by providing essential administrative support to management and staff. The Administrative Assistant serves as a key point of contact for day-to-day office operations, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate records, and seamless communication across the organization.

Avenues for Youth partners with youth experiencing homelessness to achieve their dreams. Avenues does this by providing critical shelter, short-term housing and supportive services to homeless youth in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Avenues programs, which include shelter-based and transitional housing, host homes, and housing for young families are principles-based and evidence-informed. Avenues has significantly expanded in the past three years to support more youth and deepen its supportive services to ensure its impact on youth and the community is long-lasting and transformative. Today, Avenues supports more than 300 homeless youth annually through six programs. We operate two transitional living shelters, a young families program, and three community-based host home programs. Youth in Avenues' programs have onsite access to critical supports - mental health therapy, nursing, education and career supports.
