Job Description
SGI Global is seeking an Administrative Services Clerk to support the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO), Eastern District of Michigan, in Detroit, Michigan. The Administrative Services Clerk will provide a wide range of administrative operations, facility support, logistics, and customer service functions necessary to support daily office operations and continuity of services. This position provides cross-functional support in both front office administrative services and facility management activities within a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and fluctuating operational demands. The Clerk will support reception operations, mail management, visitor coordination, facility support, office logistics, supply management, and related administrative activities.

Job Duties:
- Serve as the primary or alternate point of contact for front office administrative operations.
- Greet and assist visitors, contractors, vendors, and employees in a professional manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls and correspondence.
- Maintain visitor logs and coordinate visitor access procedures in accordance with office policies.
- Monitor shared administrative mailboxes and route requests to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with conference room scheduling, meeting coordination, and facility calendar management.
- Process, sort, distribute, and dispatch incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Receive, verify, and distribute deliveries of supplies, furniture, equipment, and operational materials.
- Coordinate with procurement personnel and vendors regarding discrepancies, damaged items, incomplete shipments, or delivery issues.
- Maintain office supply rooms, storage areas, and inventory locations in an organized and functional manner.
- Track inventory levels and assist with identifying supply replenishment needs.
- Conduct inventories of office furniture, equipment, supplies, and administrative property.
- Assist with property accountability activities, including tracking assigned equipment and preparing items for transfer or disposal.
- Coordinate the movement and distribution of supplies, furniture, and equipment throughout office spaces.
- Support facility operations by coordinating maintenance requests, vendor access, repair activities, and service calls.
- Assist with office moves, furniture relocation, workstation setup, and workspace reconfiguration.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs and inspections of office spaces, conference rooms, storage areas, and common areas.
- Support office security procedures, visitor access controls, and related administrative security functions.
- Report safety, security, and operational concerns to supervisory personnel
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
- Ability to successfully pass a Department of Justice background investigation.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative, legal, or professional office environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform quality work under pressure while managing competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional office environment.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using or ability to learn Adobe Acrobat, including PDF document creation and management.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and mail processing equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and carry materials throughout office and storage areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, move, and reposition office furniture, supplies, equipment, records, and operational materials weighing up to 80 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Ability to use hand carts, dollies, and other basic material-handling equipment during office moves, inventory activities, and facility support operations
