Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a highly professional and motivated Administrative Program Specialist C to serve as a confidential liaison to the Warden. This executive-level position works closely with facility leadership, attends private meetings, and handles highly sensitive and confidential communications. The successful candidate will manage and safeguard confidential records, demonstrate exceptional judgment, and communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing.

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Examples of duties

Five years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR

An advanced degree plus one year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Supplemental information

Job Duties:

• Manage the Inmate Disciplinary Appeals program, including reviewing cases, ensuring compliance with departmental rules, and advising the Warden on findings. Prepare and submit appeals to the DOC Secretary when required and track final decisions, recommending policy updates as needed.
• Represent the facility and the Warden in meetings with departmental executives, state agencies, local officials, and other stakeholders. Provide updates on major projects and institutional programs.
• Assist the Deputy Warden and executive staff with various administrative duties and participate on departmental committees as assigned.

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
  • This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
