The Facility Services department is seeking a Senior Administrative Manager to lead core business and administrative functions, including accounting, contracting, payroll, and human resources support. This role oversees development of the annual operating budget, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely completion of all budget tasks, and manages a broad portfolio of construction, goods, and service contracts.
The manager will contribute strategic insight and collaborative partnership in management team meetings and cross-divisional initiatives, facilitate staff meetings and trainings in ways that promote engagement, communication, and collaboration and play a critical role during organizational transitions, helping maintain operational consistency and supporting updated processes and department-wide communication.
This position will supervise a diverse team of administrative, accounting, and contracting staff, support employee development and foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture.
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for the facility services operations budget, including personnel services, forecasting activities, and grant administration.
- Oversee facility services contracting processes, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Manage and direct administrative functions such as payroll processing, records management, and related operational support tasks.
- Be the primary contact for data compliance, records retention, and policy adherence, including data governance efforts and managing board action requests.
- Investigate, resolve, and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Lead initiatives that advance department strategies and support alignment with countywide goals, mission, and core values.
- Foster a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment while developing and mentoring future leaders.
- Supervise, plan, hire, and manage direct reports, ensuring effective performance and operational continuity.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and five years or more of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs.
- Nine or more years of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs.

The Hennepin County Facility Services Department provides a full range of facility services for county programs and services. The department:
- Identifies capital needs, responds to and supports capital projects identified by line departments.
- Develops and manages projects to construct new buildings, refurbish existing buildings, and maintain infrastructure.
- Operates and maintains buildings.
