Job Description

Administrative managers coordinate and support services to organizations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of the services that allow organizations to operate efficiently, such as secretarial and reception, administration, payroll, conference planning and travel, information and data processing, mail, materials scheduling and distribution, printing and reproduction, records management, telecommunications management, security, parking, and personal property procurement, supply, and disposal.
  • Implemention of procedures to improve productivity and customer service.
  • Acquire, distribute, and store supplies as well as dispose of surplus property or oversee the disposal of unclaimed property.
  • Responsible for coordinating the physical workplace with the people and work of an organization.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's level degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) years professional experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing a variety of programmatic and administrative functions to support the operations of a division such as preparing correspondence, data entry, database creation, payroll support, coordinating and scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and records management support; monitoring business output of financial reports and personnel metrics; financial and funding analysis; reviewing policies and directives; metrics development and tracking; word processing and preparing presentations; performing professional level tasks both formal and informal requiring independent judgement, initiative and tact; providing documentation planning and support, project administration, general office support; and has effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Products (i.e. Word, Excel, and Power Point) as well as Adobe Acrobat. Working knowledge of the Naval Sea System Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, and Fleet organizations is desired.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
