Reporting to the General Manager, the position is responsible for ensuring reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of building systems, infrastructure, and maintenance services. In collaboration with Capital Projects, the head of the division aligns maintenance, renewal, and infrastructure priorities with long-term capital planning and County investment strategies.
This position coordinates personnel, fiscal management, operational performance, and regulatory compliance, while driving service excellence and ongoing improvement across facilities operations.
This role is central to modernizing the County’s facilities operations. It advances a data-driven, financially balanced, and customer-focused service model that supports critical public services throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.

Special Salary Information:

Requirements to Qualify:
You must POSSESS and clearly ARTICULATE detailed work history handling relevant tasks related to the requirement below within your digital application in the "Experience Area & Supplemental Questionnaire".
Five years of experience managing facilities maintenance* services for an organization with multiple operational units at the level of Section Manager, Facilities Operation, ISD The experience must include directing the building systems**, infrastructure***, maintenance operations****, budget, personnel, fiscal, and other administrative functions.
You must meet the above requirement(s) to be accepted into the examination process.
License:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Physical class:
Physical Class 2 - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
Special requirement information:
**Building systems are defined as the systems and components necessary for facility operations and maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural elements, fire and life safety systems, elevators, utility systems, building controls, and other infrastructure supporting building functionality.
***Infrastructure is defined as the physical facilities, utility systems, equipment, site improvements, and supporting assets required for the operation, maintenance, and continuity of organizational services and facility functions.
****Maintenance operations are defined as managing the planning, management, coordination, and oversight of preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance activities related to facilities, infrastructure, building systems, equipment, and operational assets to support continuous operations and regulatory compliance.

EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This assessment type will evaluate the education and experience you list on a supplemental questionnaire and assign a score based on a standardized scoring system worth 100% of your total score. This part of the assessment is worth 100% of your total score and assesses: Desirable Qualifications.
Applicants must receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the assessment to be added to the Eligible List.
ELIGIBILITY AND VACANCY INFORMATION
