Administrative Fellow
The Administrative Fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring healthcare leaders to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of pediatric healthcare management. This prestigious post-graduate program offers an 18–24-month journey of professional growth, hands-on leadership development, and meaningful contributions to operational and strategic initiatives.
Year 1 Fellowship Responsibilities & Expectations
The fellow undertakes impactful projects aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of hospital operations. Fellows also participate in leadership meetings and receive mentorship from seasoned executives.
Year 2 Fellowship Responsibilities & Expectations
The fellow takes on an interim management role, stretch assignment, or department-specific project, providing a platform to further refine their leadership capabilities and prepare for career advancement.
Reporting Structure
During the administrative fellowship, the fellow reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Min Quals:
Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing, finance, or related field required.
Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or public health from a nationally accredited institution, earned within one year prior to application or upon fellowship completion. Applicants fulfilling fellowship requirements as part of their graduate program are also eligible to apply
Analytical skills necessary to plan and develop activities impacting hospital-wide or departmental operations, to work with special projects, and to develop, prepare, and analyze various reports.
Communication skills, both oral and written, necessary to prepare clear and concise reports and make effective recommendations and formal presentations.
Job Duties:
1. Demonstrates effective behaviors as outlined in the organization-wide core competencies.
2. Completes a comprehensive orientation to the operations of the Medical Center in order to provide the participant with an opportunity to develop basic skills in hospital management and gain a better understanding of pediatric healthcare, Lurie Children’s and its related entities.
3. Gathering, investigating, researching, analyzing, and/or studying activities impacting hospital-wide or intra/interdepartmental operations.
4. Attends meetings as needed and participating on committees as needed.
5. Completing other special projects or assignments as directed.
6. Other job functions as assigned.

$49,920.00-$81,619.20 Salary
