Summary

This employee will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Greenville Licensing and Watercraft Services Office.

Job Duties Include:

  • Supervising, instructing and assisting with the training of customer service staff on issuing hunting and fishing licenses, tags, permits for recreational use, commercial licenses and all boating transactions in accordance with state statute.
  • Staff should be able to effectively communicate with the general public at the customer service window, by phone, electronically, and by mail.
  • Monitoring the balancing and depositing of all monies received and maintaining records or petty cash funds.
  • Communicating with the Customer Service Team regularly regarding transaction volumes, proposed legislative changes, personnel issues and general office activity.
  • Providing current, concise information concerning hunting, fishing and boating laws, regulations and procedures so that staff can effectively communicate accurate information to customers and the general public.
  • Ensuring staff is following the requirements for PII and PCI compliance.
  • Working closely with Customer Service Manager to review and evaluate procedures ensuring proper receipt, collection and handling guidelines are in place.
  • Monitoring staff production and error rates.
  • Maintaining issued equipment for operational readiness.
  • Maintaining inventory supply and providing input on design of boating and licensing forms.

Examples of duties

A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

Qualifications

Knowledge of PCs, laser printers, data processing, general accounting practices and computer technology. Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner. Extensive knowledge of Titling and Registration statutes, Hunting and Fishing regulations/procedures and SCDNR Human Resources policies and guidelines.
