Our Mission:

The Louisiana State Board of Dentistry’s mission is to protect the public by regulating the professions of dentistry and dental hygiene in Louisiana in accordance with the Dental Practice Act.

About this Position:

We’re looking for an Administrative Coordinator 4 to assist applicants and licensees with questions, issue licenses/permits, handle reporting and accounting, file as needed, and answer phones as needed.


This position will be filled as a Job Appointment. In the event that funds become available for a permanent position, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.

Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Supplemental information

Job Duties:

As an Administrative Coordinator 4, you will,

  • Review, approve, or deny dental and hygiene license applications based on current rules and regulations; determine whether licenses should be issued or not; advise applicant

  • Review, approve, and issue converted retired volunteer licenses; determine whether the license should be issued or not; advise applicant.

  • Suggest rule/policy changes as needed based on thorough knowledge of current license trends and issues

  • Review all reimbursement requests for compliance with statutory, travel, and Board policy requirements

  • Record all transactions (payments, deposits.)in and print paper checks from QuickBooks Bank deposits

  • Monthly bank reconciliations; pull various monthly invoices

  • Handle NSF notices and tracking

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED AS A FULL-TIME JOB APPOINTMENT FOR A LIMITED DURATION NOT TO EXCEED FOUR YEARS.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position (40-hour work week); it offers a flexible work schedule.
