This vacancy is located in the Natchitoches Parish Child Welfare Office.

We’re looking for an Administrative Coordinator 1/2/3 to serve as the first point of contact at the agency in our Child Welfare Office in Natchitoches, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly.

This position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff and clients of the Natchitoches Parish Child Welfare office.

Supplemental information

Job Duties:

  • Provides clerical support to the Child Welfare parish office.
  • Assist with administrative and receptionist duties when needed or as assigned.
  • Processes payments, audits caseworker travel expenses, and may close cases as needed
  • Keep track of office assigned state vehicle, fuel cards and car logs
  • Process all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Performs duties related to purchasing of office supplies.
  • Keep detailed inventory of all state supplies and office equipment and prepare reports of items needing to be surplus.
  • Organize and maintain file room and files in accordance with established procedure and records retention policy.
  • May serve as timekeeper or back up timekeeper and prepares all payroll reports and payroll adjustment forms


Position-Specific Details:
Location: This vacancy is located in the Natchitoches Parish Child Welfare Office.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

Compensation:The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.

Louisiana HB 420 requires all prospective DCFS employees to complete and clear multiple background clearances prior to employment with this agency.
