Description

Kentucky Correctional Industries (KCI) was established in 1954 and have since provided goods and services for the private industry as well as the citizens of Kentucky. Currently, Correctional Industries is comprised of 15 separate types of industry, maintained in 8 correctional facilities across the state. Correctional Industries employs more than 700 inmates teaching job skills to reduce recidivism and to make these individuals more productive members of society.

KCI is seeking to hire an Administrative Branch Manager responsible for establishing generally accepted operational procedures and practices for the division.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Responsible for oversight and overall management of the farms and warehouse operations section to assure economical and efficient operations.
  • Analyzes fiscal operations of these operations on an on-going basis.
  • Compiles necessary reports in timely manner according to set guidelines and oversees maintenance of all branch operating records and reports.
  • Assures compliance with finance cabinet purchasing guidelines and Kentucky Revised Statutes.
  • Assures compliance with budget; prepares monthly report for assistant director and director.
  • Analyzes branch operations and recommends policy and procedure; prepares and delivers communication.
  • Serves on inter or intra-agency task force or committees as assigned.
  • Supervises employees in KCI farms and warehouse operation.
  • Coordinates training for staff assigned to those operations.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional administrative experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
