Position Summary:
This position will involve working as a cooperative member of the College Guidance Office team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets visitors and office constituents such as students, parents, college admission representatives, faculty, and staff
- Answers the office’s main telephone lines
- Manages the daily calendar for office and assists setting college counselors appointments with students and parents.
- Performs other clerical tasks upon the request of the Director and other professional staff members.
- Manage and operate College Guidance database system (Scoir)
- Assist with management and orchestration of annual Sunshine Invitational College Fair
- Manage Bright Futures Scholarship program for senior students
- Organize all counselor and teacher recommendation letters for senior students
- Assist in organization of all office programs
- Create and manage annual office calendars for Sophomore, Junior and Senior classes
- Performs other duties essential to the operation of the office at the request of the Director of College Guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of related work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and public relations skills
- Ability to plan and problem solve
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, professional, and friendly demeanor
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and information/database management (including data import/export). Tech-savvy, adaptable, and eager to learn evolving technologies related to the internet, office, and document management software applications.
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment
- Commitment to a growth mindset and continuous professional development
- Strong work ethic
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and for the majority of the work day. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
