Position Summary:The qualified candidate will perform duties and responsibilities necessary to support the area to which they are assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be organized, thorough, industrious. Must be able to take initiative in order to problem solve.
  • Must have advanced computer office software experience including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite programs. Knowledge of PowerSchool, Skyward, and other district software a plus.
  • Must have the ability to operate office equipment, perform data entry, maintain records and scheduling.
  • Must demonstrate professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and with others.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
  • Model civil demeanor when working with staff, students, families,and community members.
  • Must be detail oriented.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (not all inclusive)

  • Knowledge of District accounting and student management software programs.
  • Able to compose routine business correspondence and emails without direction.
  • Knowledge of fundamental bookkeeping practices, which may include handling cash for various school activities.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage time efficiently so that projects are completed within deadlines with little or no oversight.
  • Use all office equipment and technology routinely.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Ability to generate abstract data and assemble reports.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments.
  • Manage transportation for and scheduling athletic games.
  • Conduct inventories, complete purchase orders and other record keeping activities.
  • Assist in preparing the budget.
  • May arrange for substitute teachers.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.
  • Ability to write professional communications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to respond to questions from individuals and groups.
  • Ability to complete mathematical operations and apply concepts of basic mathematics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to maintain current job skills as directed, especially in technology-related activities.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies.

  • The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The pace of work tasks would be considered as fast.
  • Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is the fourth-largest high school district in Illinois. Jessica Santee is the superintendent of schools. Glenbard District 87 encompasses 45 square miles within DuPage County, a suburban area some 30 miles west of Chicago. The communities of Glen Ellyn, Carol Stream, Glendale Heights and Lombard lie within the district’s boundaries, along with portions of Bloomingdale, Hanover Park, Addison, Downers Grove, Wheaton and unincorporated areas.

District 87’s four comprehensive high schools serve students in grades 9-12. These schools are: Glenbard East, 1014 S. Main Street, Lombard; Glenbard North, 990 Kuhn Road, Carol Stream; Glenbard South, 23W200 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn; and Glenbard West, 670 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
