
ChristianaCare Supportive & Palliative Care at Elkton is looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Administrative Assistant II with strong organizational and technical skills who can work independently and is task-oriented.
ChristianaCare Supportive & Palliative Care interdisciplinary palliative care team provides compassionate, patient-centered support to individuals living with serious or advanced chronic illnesses and their families. The team focuses on improving quality of life by managing pain and other symptoms, addressing emotional and spiritual needs, and promoting clear communication and coordinated care among patients, families, and healthcare providers. Palliative care also helps patients and their families navigate complex medical decisions by providing guidance on treatment options, care transitions, and available support services, including home care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and hospice. Through collaboration with physicians, specialists, and other care team members, ChristianaCare supports patients in understanding their conditions, communicating their care preferences, and making informed decisions aligned with their personal goals and quality of life.
The Administrative Assistant II will provide comprehensive administrative and care coordination support to physicians and advanced practice clinicians within a large Supportive & Palliative Care practice, helping to meet the complex needs of patients and their families in a timely, compassionate, and accurate manner. The Administrative Assistant II will perform high-level clinical and administrative responsibilities, including coordinating patient care, managing communications, supporting scheduling and documentation needs, and working closely with the interdisciplinary palliative care team to ensure seamless coordination of services and continuity of care.
Palliative Care – ChristianaCare Cecil County
The Administrative Assistant II will provide comprehensive cardiac patient care coordination and clinical support in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include triaging high-volume patient calls, reviewing and communicating diagnostic and laboratory results, coordinating cardiac testing and procedures, and facilitating preoperative cardiac risk assessments. Support providers by managing medication prior authorizations, disability/FMLA documentation, and test order preparation in accordance with established clinical protocols. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, coordinate communication across multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and ensure timely, patient-centered service while adapting to changing departmental

Hourly Pay Range: $22.74 - $34.11
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
