Our Nursing department located in Newark Delaware, is looking for a full time Administrative Assistant II to perform organized clerical duties for a defined service within the Department of Nursing. Additionally, the secretary assumes expanded job responsibilities as directed by the Vice-President of Patient Care Services.
The ideal candidate will be well organized, detail oriented and multitask. Candidate to complete tasks and duties within a prescribed timeline. Strong computer skills as well as good verbal and written communication skills.

The responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant II will include;
Performs clerical proficiency in a variety of nursing-oriented secretarial duties.
Coordinates' office activities, communicating messages as needed.
Demonstrates a sound knowledge base of appropriate departmental and hospital guidelines/policies.
Coordinates communication between all levels of the health care team effectively, using both written and verbal communication skills.
Operates department computer system and other equipment in an accurate and safe manner.
Maintains a positive demeanor of helpfulness, courtesy, and cooperation toward employees, physicians, other hospital personnel, other health care providers, and the general public.
Protects the confidential basis of employee or patient information at all times.
Attends staff meetings and mandatory in-services.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:
Knowledge of appropriate departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of clerical functions specific to the department.
Ability to prioritize workload independently, working within established procedures or protocols.
Ability to make decisions exercising independent judgement in all job-related activities.
Ability to collaborate constructively with all members of the health care team.
Ability to prioritize crisis calls, notifying appropriate manager immediately.
Ability to maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
Ability to locate, use, and maintain appropriate reference manuals.
Ability to operate departmental computer system and other equipment in an accurate and safe manner.
Ability to perform all appropriate psychomotor skills.
Ability to function with an awareness and application of safety policies identified within the MCD.
Ability to communicate effectively utilizing verbal and written skills.
Ability to type accurately at 60 wpm.
Skill in oral and written communications

Hourly Pay Range: $22.29 - $33.44This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
