Job Location: 0086 St. Rose Parish, Longview - Longview, WA 98632
Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $18.33 - $30.24 Hourly

POSITION TITLE:  Administrative Assistant I/Administrative Assistant for Communications
ACCOUNTABILITY: All employees assist the Pastor in working toward our mission to see, think, and live like Jesus.  This position is accountable to the Pastor and PAA.
VISION:  Glorify God, proclaim the Gospel, and form disciples who love, live and serve like Jesus Christ.
PURPOSE: Evangelize parishioners and non-parishioners via all aspects of parish communications.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assures a hospitable and welcoming presence for parish visitors.  Answers telephone as back up and assures accurate and prompt transmission of messages.  Back up front office to welcome visitors.
- Create weekly bulletin
- Create weekly email newsletter, transitioning to using ParishStaq App for communications.
- Create 3+ posts per week for Facebook and Instagram
- Update website with new events or Mass changes
- Update digital sign with new events
- Submit song report to One License
- Create flyers to showcase events
- Work with transitioning communications to ParishStaq
- Create monthly Virtus compliance report and follow-up with non-compliant volunteers and staff
- Onboard new volunteers in Virtus
- Sacramental Records, to include add newly received sacraments to books and ParishStaq, create and mail notifications to other parishes, look up request for sacramental records, create certificates as needed, organize paperwork for people going through their sacraments
- Performs other duties as assigned

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
- Collaborative, service-oriented, able to work with diverse individuals
- Professional and able to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work with interruptions
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to details including tone, grammar and messaging
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Ability to draft and proofread newsletters, emails, or announcements
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
- Proficiency using OneDrive
- Familiarity with Canva or another graphic design program
- Familiarity with ParishStaq or ability to quickly learn
- Familiarity with Catholic liturgical practices and sacramental preparation processes a plus
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
