Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, the Administrative Assistant for Physical Therapy is responsible for supporting the College of Health Sciences and the Physical Therapy Department.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist WCU and COHS in the implementation of the respective Mission Statement(s), Statement(s) of Purpose, Institutional Plan(s), and Financial Plan(s).
- Manage front desk operations of the Physical Therapy Department including greeting visitors to the department, answering and directing all incoming calls, maintaining office equipment and inventory, and other functions deemed appropriate by the department director
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage physical therapy department events
- Maintain and enter accurate financial accounting records for the physical therapy department to be approved by the Physical Therapy Director
- Direct students to on campus resources including mental health counselors, academic success counselors, tutors, student affairs, library, etc.
- Serve as a faculty liaison for test proctoring, scheduling, and other necessary services.
- Assist the Director in records management related to admissions, clinical operations, and daily operations of the physical therapy department.
- Coordinate preparation and distribution of physical therapy recruitment materials and other materials approved by the Physical Therapy Director
- Assist in the administration, security, confidentiality and retention of office files.
- Collect and distribute mail for the Physical Therapy Department.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Must have prior experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office Professional software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
- Must have the ability to manage departmental electronic One Drive files
- Must be punctual and able to work required hours
- Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must exhibit courteous, professional customer service skills
- Must have the ability to work independently, complete multiple assignments, meet deadlines, exercise good judgment, demonstrate tactfulness and discretion, and maintain confidentiality
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to solve problems effectively
Preferred

Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher
- Prior experience in secretarial/administrative assistant duties
- Experience in graduate level student affairs, academic affairs, or medical education
Physical Demands
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Must have the ability to lift and carry files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment
- Must be able to retrieve departmental mail from the post office and run errands to other departments
- Must be able to maintain scheduled hours and perform duties in an on-campus setting
