Mesquite ISD - Compensation Plans

Clerical/Technical Support Compensation Plan

Pay Grade: 2

Shift Type: Full-Time

Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Principal

EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To collect and maintain student attendance information as well as district, state and federal requirements relating to attendance processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma/GED

Texas Educational Aide Certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of basic computer skills

Possess appropriate typing skills for keyboarding.

Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

None

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Enter attendance and student information.

Assist in absentees, enrollment, and withdrawal of students.

Generate reports for attendance.

File folders, correspondence, and records.

Apply first aid, dispense medication.

Assist in maintaining student folders, transcripts, and cumulative folders.

Operate standard office machines.

Enter discipline.

Enter address and phone number changes.

Mail discipline and positive referrals to parents.

Assist in covering ISS as needed.

Process ISS assignments.

Collect work for absent students.

Answer telephone, take messages, and route phone calls.

Greet visitors, monitors sign-in/sign-out sheets.

Communicates with parents, students, staff, etc. in person, by telephone or in writing for the purpose of providing information on a variety of attendance and/or discipline issues and meeting district and state absence notification requirements.

Ensures accuracy of attendance records

Maintains a variety of student attendance records, schedules, and files for the purpose of providing reliable information in compliance with district policies.

Maintains students' records relating to discipline and discipline processes

Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands:

Reading and comprehending instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Writing correspondence.

Adding and subtracting two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Applying simple understanding to carry out detailed but basic written and / oral instructions.

Physical demands/environmental factors:

Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Standing, walking, sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion.
