Summary

The primary function of the Administrative Assistant is to assist in the maintenance of attorney files and provide information to the public.

Examples of duties

• Assisting clients in a professional manner
• Answering phones in a professional manner and entering client phone calls and walk in questions into the Defender Data database
• Filing any and all paperwork for attorney files
• Determining if any paperwork must also be sent to the client
• Opening and closing attorney files
• Responding to client mail
• Filing any and all paperwork with the office of the Clerk of Court
• Assisting any and all other support staff when needed
• Visiting clients at the detention center if requested
• Assist at the courthouse when necessary
• Processing Clerk of Court Transmittals to locate client Applications and warrants
• Downloading evidence via Axon.com and other evidence dissemination systems

Qualifications

• Use personal computer/software programs and general office equipment
• Effectively utilize Defender Data, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Handles matters with integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to be patient with attorneys, other staff and all clients.
