Job Description

Administrative Specialist, Procurement (Temporary)

Tukwila, WA · 100% Onsite · Full-Time Temporary · $37/hour

SumBridge is hiring an Administrative Specialist to support the Procurement department at our client's central office in Tukwila. This is a hands-on administrative role centered on purchasing and ordering, with broad support responsibilities for department leadership. You'll work independently most of the time, coordinating with vendors and colleagues across the organization, so we're looking for someone organized, reliable, and confident handling complex conversations with professionalism.

The assignment is scheduled for approximately two months, beginning in early October, and is open to extending beyond the initial duration.

Position Details

Location: Tukwila, WA — 100% onsite (this role is not remote or hybrid)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week

Duration: Approximately two months, starting in early October — with the potential to extend

Pay: $37 per hour

Benefits: Healthcare coverage and PTO available during the assignment

Interview: One 30-minute Zoom/Teams interview with the hiring supervisor

What You'll Do

  • Manage purchasing and ordering for the department — place orders with common vendors such as Amazon, Costco, and Office Depot, receive supplies, and maintain inventory to meet department needs.
  • Review procurement and consultant contracts for accuracy and adherence to organizational policy ahead of leadership approval.
  • Receive and review invoices, confirm all requirements for payment have been met, obtain signatures, and submit invoices for processing.
  • Maintain the list of office equipment and leases.
  • Provide high-level support to department leadership — screening and triaging phone calls, email, and mail, responding to complex correspondence, scheduling meetings, and recording meeting notes.
  • Perform data entry and records production and management.
  • Maintain internal-facing web content and coordinate and document the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Produce reports, including research on peer organizations and regional or national trends, at the request of department leadership.
  • Support special projects addressing complex day-to-day department operations.

What You'll Bring

  • An associate's degree and solid experience providing high-level administrative support of a confidential nature — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with a proven ability to work effectively with people from many different backgrounds and stay professional in challenging or complex situations.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management, with the ability to manage projects and work independently.
  • Comfort asking questions and following through reliably without close supervision.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.

Preferred

  • Procurement or purchasing experience.
  • Experience with Yardi.
  • Familiarity with ordering through common vendor sites such as Amazon, Costco, and Office Depot.

Additional Requirements

Selected candidates will complete a background check and basic office skills and Excel (2019) assessments prior to starting.
