The Salvation Army Old Orchard Beach Corps is looking for a dependable, organized, and people-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a Part-Time position working approximately 26 hours per week.

As the first point of contact for our Corps, you will play a vital role in keeping our office running smoothly and supporting the programs and services that make a real difference in our community. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Corps, managing all incoming calls, correspondence, and visitor interactions with professionalism and care.
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations including file management, supply inventory, compliance recordkeeping, and submission of reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate and support Social Services operations; manage appointment scheduling, client intake, and related recordkeeping.
  • Prepare weekly worship materials including the Sunday bulletin and PowerPoint presentation.
  • Support program administration across community initiatives, seasonal assistance programs, and special events; assist with volunteer coordination and registration.
  • Manage donation receipting, monthly donor acknowledgment correspondence, and assist with bookkeeping and expense reporting.
  • Monitor front desk operations and building security systems as part of daily responsibilities.
  • Create promotional content and maintain the Corps' social media presence to support community outreach.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • One to two years of administrative or clerical experience.

SKILLS AND COMPETENICIES

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills; warm and professional with all individuals.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, church, or community service setting is a plus.
  • Must pass required background checks.
