Reporting to the Team Leader, The Administrative Assistant role is responsible for administrative and supportive duties for the Disability Administration department and working closely with the Litigation Team. The Disability Admin team provides critical support to the Health and Disability Litigation team providing litigation reporting, litigation settlement cheques, preparing new action files, etc.
What you will do:
Issuing Litigation Settlement and Reinstatement Funds
Preparing and sending Litigation cheques
Bankruptcy and Fraud recovery
Preparing monthly Litigation Reports
New Action file assignment and completion
Provide and participate in cross training. Act as back-up when needed
Other admin tasks as required
What you will bring:
Post-Secondary education level or equivalent
Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in an administrative role
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to varying audiences, including proofreading with keen attention to detail
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of legal and court documents and procedures across Canada, preferred
Team player with well-developed organizational and time management skills
Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and productively as part of a team while managing competing priorities to deliver business results
Strong technical skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro, matter management and document management software (M-Files, Relativity)
Excellent interpersonal and client services skills; professional and positive demeanour
Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information as part of daily duties
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Able to work in-office 3 days per week
Well-versed and easily adaptable to new computer software such as in-house data management systems and MS Office
Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $34,900 - $47,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
