The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is seeking an organized, service-oriented professional to join the Carson City/Storey County Extension Office. Located in Carson City, Nevada, this position provides essential administrative, financial, program, and customer service support that helps Extension deliver research-based education and resources to Nevada communities.
The Administrative Assistant 3 plays an important role in coordinating daily office operations and supporting Extension faculty, staff, programs, and activities. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with people, maintaining organized processes, and contributing to a community-focused organization.

The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities in a public-facing office. Strong customer service, communication, recordkeeping, and financial administrative skills will contribute to success in this position. The ideal candidate will also be able to work collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, maintain accuracy, and provide responsive support to a variety of individuals and programs.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Grade 27
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
