Specific Job Information:

This position will require travel to assist with coverage at the Butte and Helena offices as needed when administrative staff are absent. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining high professional standards. They must have the ability to follow instructions and agency policies and procedures while exercising sound judgment and working independently with minimal supervision. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, adapt to changing priorities and circumstances, and use strong problem-solving skills is essential. Excellent customer service skills, including professionalism, courtesy, effective communication, and a commitment to meeting the needs of customers and the public, are required.

Job Duties:

This position is located at the Region 3 Headquarters Office, Front Desk in Bozeman. The Front Desk Unit serves as a primary FWP license agent and is responsible for accurately issuing a variety of hunting, fishing, and miscellaneous licenses, permits, and decals and corrects errors on licenses sold by external license providers. Along with the customer service and clerical duties conducted at the Front Desk, the chosen candidate will participate in conducting Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) boat checks, assist with tagging harvested animals, and accounting for Fishing Access Site (FAS) revenue among other regional duties according to the time of the year and the needs of the office.

Specific tasks for this position may include selling licenses, providing current regulation and agency information, answering phones, restocking resource materials, assisting with FAS fee processing, assisting with tagging animals, performing Aquatic Invasive Species boat inspections, answering block management questions, balancing cash drawers and assisting FWP staff with special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):

The knowledge, skills and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalent and one to two years of job-related work experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
