We’re looking for an Administrative Assistant 2 to serve as the first point of contact at the agency, creating a welcoming environment for veterans, visitors, and staff, and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly. This position is directly supervised by a Veterans Cemetery Director.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties:

As an Administrative Assistant, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors.

In this role, you will:

  • Performs recurring clerical/administrative duties to include: screening telephone calls and recording messages and refer to appropriate staff
  • Prepares and files routine visitors log sheets
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining files
  • Keep records of internal office reports and correspondence
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Schedule appointments and assist with completing state benefit forms
  • Assist office visitors requiring routine responses or assistance

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: When Actually Employed (WAE); 1,250 hours within a 12-month period (part-time)

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
