About the role

The Administration Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the Thrive team by delivering efficient, confidential, and customer-focused administrative services. The position ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the program through maintaining accurate systems and the Thrive database, supporting service coordination, and enabling timely, responsive support to tenants.

Working in a fast-paced environment, the role requires strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities, sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information, and the initiative to resolve administrative challenges. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the position contributes to a collaborative, positive, and solution-focused culture.

About you

  • Certificate IV in Business (or equivalent) and/or relevant administrative experience
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality, customer-focused administrative support
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Sound judgement, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience maintaining databases and administrative systems
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
