Make your days meaningful

Join a welcoming, purpose-driven team supporting young people to access mental health care and wellbeing support. At headspace Eastern Shore, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary service helping young people (aged 12-25) feel safe, heard and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

Your role, your impact

As the first point of contact for clients, families and visitors, you’ll help create a positive and inclusive experience from the moment someone connects with the service. You’ll play a central role in ensuring young people, families and community members feel supported, respected and at ease from their very first interaction.

You’ll be both the welcoming face of the service and a key support behind the scenes – helping keep things running smoothly while supporting individuals to feel confident taking the next step in their care journey.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create a warm and inclusive first impression by welcoming clients, carers and visitors with care, respect and professionalism
  • Manage reception operations including phone enquiries, appointment bookings and confirmations, and maintaining accurate, confidential client records
  • Support access to care by coordinating bookings, referrals and clinician schedules, and liaising with GP clinics and external providers
  • Keep the service running smoothly by preparing reception and client spaces, supporting meetings and events, and managing day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Provide broader administrative support including data entry, and supporting multiple programs across the centre
  • Work closely with clinicians and partners to ensure coordinated, seamless service delivery

About you

You bring empathy, strong organisation and a collaborative approach to your work.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Experience in administration and/or reception roles, ideally within health or community services
  • A compassionate, client-focused and non-judgemental approach, particularly when supporting young people aged 12–25 and their families/carers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and understand client needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confidence using data entry systems
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment with attention to detail
  • A strong commitment to confidentiality and respectful, person-centred practice

What will make you stand out

  • A qualification in Business Administration (Certificate level or above) - highly regarded
  • Experience in youth mental health or community services
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, including referrals and care coordination
  • Experience with Best Practice (desirable but not essential)
  • Flexibility in work hours and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the service
